Schedule a Trip

​ICATS vans travel throughout the Iredell County areas daily. In addition to Iredell County, ICATS provides out of county medical trips on the following schedule:

◦ Monday - Charlotte
​◦ Tuesday - Salisbury/Concord
​◦ Thursday - Winston-Salem
​◦ Friday - Hickory/Conover

After being signed up for service, trips may be scheduled by calling reservations at (704) 873-9393, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Trips may be scheduled up to one month in advance. Please make a reservation at least two business days in advance. If you use TDD, call (800) 735-2962 and ask to be connected to (704) 873-9393. For a translator, call (800) 821-3420.

General Guidelines for Riding
  • If passengers forget to cancel trips, they will be charged a NO SHOW fee. Passengers will not be allowed to make a new reservation until the NO SHOW fee has been paid. ​ 
  • Cancellations must be called in two hours prior to pick-up time, unless the pick-up time is before 8 a.m. For pick-up times before 8 a.m. you must call no later than 5 p.m. the day before.
  • Passengers living within the city limits of the destination city must be ready one hour before the scheduled drop-off time. Passengers living in one city and going to another city must be ready two hours before the drop-off time. The operator can arrive any time within this window to pick passengers up.

  • When the van arrives, passengers have five minutes to board.
  • When making reservations, please inform the reservationist if you need a lift equipped vehicle and if you will be accompanied by an escort.
  • Drivers are not allowed to take reservations for passengers. ​
  • Human Service Agencies must complete a Reservation Form on behalf of their clients. ​
  • Reservation forms should be faxed to (704) 873 8125 or e-mailed.

What is needed to Schedule a Trip

  • Street address of the passenger  ◦ 48 Hour Notice REQUIRED
  • Name of the passenger
  • Telephone number of passenger
  • Date of the appointment
  • Time of the appointment
  • Return time (two hours automatically scheduled if return time is not known/provided)
  • Destination name and street address of where the passenger needs to go
  • Type of assistive device used (wheelchair, walker, cane)
