Provides one-on-one education for health department clients to encourage healthy decisions and to connect clients with resources to achieve healthy lifestyles.

Community Health Education

Provides health or health-related education to Iredell County Residents.

  • Puberty Education
  • Postponing Sexual Involvement Education
  • Alcohol/Drugs/Tobacco Education
  • Breast Self Exam/Testicular Self Exam Education
  • Attend health fairs to promote Health Department services and healthy lifestyles
  • Assist businesses and organizations in facilitating health programs
  • Provide literature on various health topics and respond to community health concerns
  • Monitor health status of the community

 


Health Promotion

Coordinates the Iredell County Eat Smart Move More Coalition.  Membership in the coalition is open to all persons interested in improving the health of Iredell County citizens through increased physical activity and healthier eating.

 


Vasectomy Referral Program

Educates and refers men for permanent birth control

  • Complete education and paperwork to arrange vasectomies for men based on a sliding fee scale determined by family size and income.
    (Program based upon funding availability)
