Iredell County Health Department is taking appointments for the 2009 H1N1 vaccine, which is now available to the general public by appointment.

The Iredell County Health Department believes it is important to keep you informed about the Pandemic A (H1N1) outbreak. The symptoms of Novel H1N1 are similar to the symptoms of regular flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people have also reported diarrhea and vomiting associated with Pandemic A (H1N1). Like the regular flu, Pandemic A (H1N1) may cause a more severe illness in people with certain chronic medical conditions. Everyday actions you can take to help avoid illness are:
- Cover your nose and mouth when you cough
- Wash hands frequently with soap and water
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
- Stay at home if you are sick and limit contact with others
