Iredell County Soil & Water Conservation District

Welcome to Iredell SWCD
The Iredell Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is a local organization that promotes the wise use and management of our natural resources: soil, water, air, plants, and animals. The District administers and supports local, state, and federal programs which improve water quality and reduce non-point source pollution on both agricultural and non-agricultural lands. In addition, the District provides educational programs for schools, civic groups, and other organizations.
The District works closely with the United States Department of Agriculture - Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA - NRCS), and the Division of Soil and Water Conservation – North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA & CS). NRCS provides soil conservation specialists to help landowners and land users. The Division provides financial, technical, and administrative support to the District.
Iredell SWCD is governed by a five member Board which consists of two members appointed by the State Soil and Water Conservation Commission and three members which are elected by the citizens of Iredell County, to a four-year staggered term on a non-partisan basis. Our board meetings are open to the public and are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 9:00 a.m. at the District Office in the Agricultural Resources Center.
Our office is located in the Agricultural Resources Center
