Applications are now being accepted by the Centralina Council of Governments for the 2012 Urgent Repair Program. This program provides funds to assist very-low and low-income households to address housing conditions which post imminent threats to life and/or safety or to provide accessibility modification and other repairs necessary to prevent displacement of ‘special needs’ homeowners (elderly 62 or older, handicapped or disabled, a single parent living with a dependent in the home, frail elderly, etc). A total of $84,000 is available through this program to assist up to 14 households in the two county area.
Qualified applicants must reside in Iredell or Lincoln County and own and occupy the home in need of repair; must have a household income which does not exceed 50% of the county median income for the household size; must have a special need, and must have urgent repair needs which cannot be met through other state or federally-funded housing assistance programs.
