Air Quality Meetings Held March 25th, April 17th

To keep federal transportation funding a region must demonstrate that proposed transportation projects will not worsen air quality.  A meeting was held Monday, March 25th to present the results of the emissions analysis contesting that the list of highway projects slated for construction between 2012-2018 (the TIP) will not harm air quality.  In fact, between now and 2025, air quality will improve despite increases in vehicle miles traveled because of low-emissions technology in new cars.

A similar meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 5:00- 7:00 PM at the Lowrance Room at the Charles Mack Citizens Center, 215 N. Main Street, Mooresville, NC 28115, .  This meeting will be about air quality and the proposed HOT lanes project-if you have interest in either subject.  Or you could read the air quality conformity documents in full here and comment online.
