What is Connect-CTY?

The recent onset of unforeseen events taking place locally, nationally and internationally has reminded community leaders of the importance of emergency preparedness and thorough communication planning. Accordingly, the Connect-CTY service enables county and city officials to schedule, send, and track personalized voice messages in multiple languages to some, or all, of their communities’ residents, businesses, and local officials in minutes.

City leaders can target messages to an unlimited number of groups or geographical areas for everything from emergency response team mobilization to street closings and send messages to everyone or only the specified groups impacted. Since the Connect-CTY service is not a physical piece of equipment housed in a city office building, the service is protected from localized disasters.

All residential and business land lines in Iredell County will automatically be included in the system. Anyone who wants to add a cell phone line to the system should call 704-878-5444 to have their information included.

Residents of Iredell County can add or remove telephone numbers and/or email addresses to the Connect-CTY service by filling out the Connect-CTY Opt-In/Opt/Out form.
