Crime Recording/Analysis

The Iredell County Sheriff's Office gathers information during crime prevention, intervention and investigation. Our Records staff processes that information using a computer software program called Visions, which is designed for police records. Any computer in this Office can obtain data entry information.

COPIES OF INCIDENT REPORTS

 You may obtain copies of incident reports Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at 230 N. Tradd St., Statesville. A member of the office staff will assist you in locating the correct report. The public is not charged for copies of reports.

Fingerprinting

The administrative office staff at the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office will be happy to assist the public with fingerprinting for employment and various other reasons. Please have your valid identification and fingerprint cards with you when you come to be printed. There is a $10.00 fee for this service. This service is offered Monday thru Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us at (704) 878-3180.

Purchase Permits

Permits to purchase a pistol are issued in the Statesville office Monday thru Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. You must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license or NC state issued photo ID showing our correct Iredell County address.  There is a $5.00 fee for each permit and you may receive a maximum of four(4) permits per day. You must have one permit for each pistol you are purchasing and the permits are valid for five years.

CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMITS

Applications for concealed handgun permits are accepted at the Statesville office Monday thru Friday 8:30 thru Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. No applications will be accepted before 8:30 am or after 4:30 pm. You must appear in person and present a valid North Carolina driver’s License or a NC State issued Photo ID. You will be fingerprinted if you are applying for a new permit. Fingerprints will only be done for renewal applications if the prints previously submitted to the State Bureau of Investigations were rejected due to poor quality. The fee schedule for these applications are listed below.

Copies of Incident Reports

You may pick up copies of incident reports in person during business hours listed above. An Office Deputy will assist you in locating the report. There is no charge for a copy of the report.

Fingerprinting

An Office Deputy will fingerprint you for employment and other purposes during the business hours listed above. You must have a valid North Carolina Drivers License or NC ID card with you.  We use the standard FD-259 fingerprint card, which you must furnish. The fee is $10.00 for this service. We only accept cash and local check (we do not accept credit or debit cards).  If you have any questions please call us 704-664-7500 for more information.

You can apply for a pistol of a concealed handgun permit during business hours listed above. The fees for each are listed below. (We only accept cash and local checks).

Applications must be typed or printed and notarized.

Concealed Carry Permit Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I get a Concealed handgun permit?

A. You must first complete an approved Firearms Safety Training Course. Once you have completed the course, you bring your original Certificate of Completion to the Sheriff’s Office, complete the application packet, have a valid NC ID, and pay the fee stated above.

Q. Where do I get an application?
A. You obtain the application at the Front Desk of the Sheriff’s Office located at 610 E. Center Avenue (Back door to the Courthouse in the old Lowrance Hospital)

Q. Do I have to be a resident of Iredell County to apply?
A. Yes, you apply in the county in which you reside.

Q. Where can I attend the safety and training course?
A. Classes are offered through private trainers and gun clubs.
