CAMP IREDELL ADVENTURES DIRECTOR
Adventure Day Camp
Iredell County Recreation Department is seeking a qualified individual to direct an adventure based day camp program for youth ages 11-13. Must be able to commit for 12 weeks (weekends off) from May 24th through August 13th, including pre-camp meetings and program planning. This includes staff training (June 7th – June 10th in the evenings) and 8 weeks of camp (June 21st -August 13th).

| Duties: |
Responsible for the safety and welfare of the campers and staff, good relations with the public and other staff members, maintaining camp morale and a motivated atmosphere, maintaining a clean work environment, group supervision and behavior management, and using good judgment to see that camp is run safely and efficiently. Specific duties include: supervising and working with one additional seasonal staff member, safe operation of a 15-passenger van, program implementation, managing daily record keeping, maintaining a weekly operating budget, and assisting in pre-program planning with the Program Supervisor. Contacts and meets with the Recreation Program Supervisor on a regular basis for camp progress and up dates. May have other duties assigned by the Program Supervisor. |

| Special Requirements: |
Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, First Aid and CPR certified, good swimming ability, and experience in the following areas: camp programming and implementation, working with youth in a group setting, and staff/group management and supervision. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in adventure-based activities (rafting, canoeing, hiking, rock climbing, ropes challenge course, etc). Must be reliable, punctual, and work well with others. |

$9.50-$10.00 per hour DOE/Q |
