CAMP IREDELL ADVENTURES INSTRUCTOR
Adventure Day Camp
Iredell County Recreation Department is seeking a qualified individual to assist the camp director in supervision and instruction of an adventure based day camp for youth ages 11-13. Position will be in effect from June 7th through August 13th with weekends off. This includes staff training (June 7th – June 10th in the evenings) and 8 weeks of camp (June 21st -August 13th).

| Duties: |
Responsible for the safety and welfare of the campers and staff, good relations with the public and other staff members, maintaining camp morale and a motivated atmosphere, maintaining a clean work environment, group supervision and behavior management, and using good judgment to see that camp is run safely and efficiently. Specific duties include: working with and assisting the director with program implementation and operation, safe operation of a 15-passenger van, and daily record keeping. Instructor may have other duties as assigned by the Camp Director or Program Supervisor. |

| Special Requirements: |
Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, First Aid and CPR certified, good swimming ability, and experience working with youth in a group setting. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in adventure-based activities (rafting, canoeing, hiking, rock climbing, ropes challenge course, etc). Must be reliable, punctual, and work well with others. |
| Salary Range: |
$8.50-$9.00 per hour DOE/Q |
