Each year, the Iredell Soil and Water Conservation District sponsors educational programs and contests for Iredell County students on protecting and conserving our natural resources. All educational programs follow objectives outlined in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.

  1. Community Outreach Programs

    Get involved with any of the various programs in the community to help conserve water and soil with education.

  2. Contests & Handbook

    Each year, Iredell Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) sponsor contests for students in Iredell County. Learn about them and read the guidelines.

  3. Envirothon

    The Envirothon is a hands-on environmental education program for teams of middle and high school students. Students study Wildlife, Aquatic Ecology, Forestry, Soils/Land Use, and Current Environmental Issues during the entire school year.

  4. Resource Conservation Workshop

    The Resource Conservation Workshop is a week long intensive study and hands on conservation workshop requiring student application and participation in a wide range of conservation topics.
